Infused Street Fighter at VSFighting 2017

After another victory in the Elite Series on Friday, some of our Street Fighter squad headed down to Millennium Point in Birmingham for VSFighting 2017. Let's take a look at how they got on.

Infused Street Fighter

Sean "ImStillDaDaddy" Dench

Afsar "Afii" Ali

Shakil "Shakz" Ghazi

Anthony "GuN SLinGa" Phillips

Shakz began his campaign against Xian in the first round of the winner's bracket. A close set didn't go in his favour and he went straight into the loser's bracket where he would face teammate, ISDD. ISDD managed to overcome Real Menace 2-0 to set up an encounter with Shakz. Shakz managed to defeat ISDD to move on and play against Brick. A 2-1 victory for Shakz moved him into the top 12 where he would face Packz. Another close set but it was Packz who came out with the victory to send Shakz home in the top 12.

Gun Slinga kicked off his tournament against KingNashor. An easy 2-0 win saw him advance to the next round where he would battle Takamura. Takamura looked dominant, taking the series 2-1, knocking Gun Slinga out in the top 24.

Meanwhile, Afii would also start in the winner's bracket, taking on Infexious but he was unable to get the win and moved to the loser's bracket to take on Boltstrike. Afii managed to get the victory and moved on to take on Brickterium, a match which he won to secure his place in the top 12. A tough contest against Nassim Claw would follow but Afii was in fine form, taking down the EnVy player to move onto the top 8. Afii had the momentum on his side, a 3-0 sweep of Packz would set up a clash with Xian for a top 6 place. Unluckily, Afii was defeated by the former EVO champion to finish the event in a respectable 5th place.

Final Placements

Afii: 5th

Shakz: Top 12

Gun Slinga: Top 24

ISDD: Top 24

GGWP to all the players. The Street FIghter players will be back in action for week seven of the Elite Series.
