2017 was one of the most exciting years for us at Team Infused. We’ve expanded into several new esports and have been privileged to have worked with some of the most exciting talent in the esports scene. Let’s take a look back at some highlights from the past year.
Kicking off with Call of Duty, Infinite Warfare was an interesting for us. We managed to end the IW season on a high at the 2017 World Championship, where the boys in red managed to battle through a three-way tie breaker to book their place in the championship bracket, where they would take a shock victory against Rise Nation to secure a phenomenal top 12 finish. Heading to the World War 2 season, the team intend on building on the success from the previous title as they look to qualify for Stage One of the CWL Pro League.
This year has also seen us as one of the franchises in the Gfinity Elite Series. The event saw eight esports organisations do battle over Counter Strike, Street Fighter V and Rocket League. Season one of the Elite Series saw a fantastic undefeated streak from our Rocket League team in the regular season before falling short in the playoffs. Guided by Sean “ImStillDaDaddy” Dench, our Street Fighter team managed to produce some insane comebacks against some of Europe’s best Street Fighter talent.
In the second season of the Elite Series, the Street Fighter team were able to secure a place in the playoffs but were defeated in the semi finals to finish a respectable 4th place. The Counter Strike team produced an incredible win against Team Envy’s academy roster to keep their chances of making the playoffs alive but they fell short by the narrowest of margins.
Towards the end of 2017, our Halo team managed to secure the HCS London championship ahead of Dreamhack Denver, where they achieved history by securing a top six finish. A feat that has never been achieved by a European team and an American Halo event. A new look Call of Duty team has entered the battlefield and have won the most recent CWL 2K tournament to keep their chances of making Stage One of the Pro League alive.
2017 has also been a year of developing new relationships with some new sponsors. We have established a strong partnership with Noblechairs, a German company that creates some of the best gaming and office chairs in the industry. Along with Noblechairs, we had the exciting opportunity to work with BLK Sport UK. BLK work with some of the biggest sporting teams in the UK and produced a fantastic clothing range along with a slick new jersey design.
Looking ahead to 2018, we are already hard at work preparing for another year of world class esports action. We’d like to thank all our sponsors, our players and every person who has supported us throughout the year as we look to grow even more next year.
