This past weekend, Infused Halo have been competing at HWC London, taking place at Wembley Stadium. Competing for a share of $25,000 and two places at the Halo World Championship, Europe's best teams were in attendance in what was a fantastic weekend of Halo esports action. Let's take a look and see how the squad got on.

Coming into the tournament with the second seed, Infused began their campaign against Team Descend, taking them down 3-0. Their next match against exceL was another 3-0 sweep and the team were in fine form as they headed into their quarter-final match against the Pace Making Pandas.

The boys in red started off with a convincing win in the opening Strongholds to take an early series lead. Plaza Slayer was a much closer contest but Infused were able to edge out the victory 50-43 to extend their series lead to 2-0. Could they get another 3-0 sweep? CTF Coliseum was an incredibly back and forth game between the two teams and with 4 minutes left, Infused had a 2-1 lead with the PMP on the offensive. The boys in red were able to hold on and defend their base, taking the game 2-1 and the series 3-0! Phlux had a phenomenal CTF game, dropping 25 kills to 16 deaths.

The next match for the team would be against FAB Games, widely considered to be the best Halo team in Europe. If the squad could beat FAB, we would be heading to the Halo World Championships. FAB started off well, taking a 1-0 lead but the boys in red responded quickly, taking the following Slayer to level the series. The CTF went in favour of FAB and were just one map away from taking the series. Infused were able to win the next Strongholds to force a deciding game 5. It was all to play for! Unluckily FAB were able to take the series 3-2 as the squad fell to the Loser's Bracket for the final stretch of the tournament. A win in the next match and we could still make it to the World Finals.

The French side of Supremacy would be their opposition for a place in the World Championships and the Grand Finals. The openeing 4 maps of the series went back and forth between the two teams and after 4 maps it was tied at 2-2. Infused were able to secure a 3-2 lead after a 3-0 victory on CTF Coliseum meaning only one more map was needed for that spot in the Grand Finals and the World Championship. Supremacy responded and the squad were heading for an all-important game 7! Were they able to pull it off? In a hotly contested Slayer, Supremacy were able to take the victory and the series 4-3.

Infused Halo finish HWC London in 3rd place, taking home $4,000.

So close to the World Finals for the squad! They will be in action in the Last Chance Qualifier and will battle it out for a place at the World Championships. GGWP to everyone we played this weekend and a massive thank you to Gfinity for hosting yet another fantastic event.
