CWL Atlanta is the next stop on the road to the Global LAN League, taking place in April. 170 teams are heading to the Georgia Congress Centre in Atlanta to compete for $200,000 in prize money and some of those essential Pro Points which are up for grabs. Here at Infused, I'll be taking a look at the likely contenders to top group C.
Aches | Lacefield | Ricky | Assault
Cloud 9 are heading into Atlanta with the same roster that beat OpTic Gaming back at CoD XP. Aches will be the key player for the squad in this tournament. His leadership and wealth of experience will be vital if they are to take home the title in Atlanta.
The team have managed to maintain their strong placements in the 2K tournaments and are contenders to take home the championship.
Reedy | Zed | Watson | Seany
Back at CWL London, Elevate secured a 3rd place finish behind fellow European powerhouses, Splyce and Orbit . At MLG Vegas, they were able to navigate through the Open Bracket successfully and even went on to beat Team EnVyUs to secure second place in their respective group.
The changes to the ERAD should definitely play into the strengths of the Elevate team. The likes of Zed and Seany favour the aggressive style of play and are the keys to Elevate's success in the tournament.
Saints |Classic |Octane | Slacked
Statistically, Luminosity have a plethora of talent on their roster. Classic, Octane and Slacked have all teamed together on the former Rise Nation team on Black Ops 3. A team widely considered to be the second best team in the world.
After finishing in the top 6 at MLG Vegas, the team have dropped down to 8th position in the Pro Points ladder meaning a high placement in Atlanta is all the more important for this squad.
Quiker | Niall | Weeman | Zerg
Team 3G hold the accolade of being the only team to defeat Orbit back at CWL London. Unfortunately, they were only to secure a top 6 placement at the event.
CWL Atlanta is looking to be an interesting event for this team. A lack of experience at MLG events could well hinder them but they are coming into the group as underdogs. If they can perform at the best of their abilities, they could well spring a surprise on the household names of Call of Duty.
